FS2002 Douglas DC-3 Cathay Pacific 'Nikki' VR-HDA
-------------------------------------------------

'Nikki' was the second aircraft to fly for Cathay Pacific Airways. At one time Cathay had seven DC-3s before larger Douglas variants took their place. Based on Jan Visser's legendary PH-DDZ DC-3 model for FS2000 (updated for FS2002) this download is a texture set only and requires the file CPABETSY.ZIP, which comprises two repaints of her sister 'Betsy', complete with panel by Jorge 'Eko' Salas.

The model has transparent cabin windows, full nightlighting, 3D interior with opening door, boarding ladder and other details. CPABETSY.ZIP includes the FS2002 lights fix by Paul Pridmore. All repaints are by Mark Beaumont.

INSTALLATION

You must first seek out and install the file CPABETSY.ZIP which contains the primary files needed. If you have made no changes to the recommended install path, then either:

Unzip CPANIKKI.ZIP directly to your main FS2002 folder. The relevant texture folder TEXTURE.NIKKI will be installed in the folder 'Douglas DC-3 Cathay Pacific 'Betsy'' in your FS2002/AIRCRAFT folder. The file AIRCRAFT.CFG will automatically replace the one that is already there, adding 'Nikki' which will appear as an extra aircraft selection.

Or:

Unzip to a temporary folder and move the respective folders to your FS2002 directory manually, overwriting Betsy's AIRCRAFT.CFG file. This way you can ensure that no file is unwittingly overwritten. Do things this way if you have changed folder names or content.

Whichever way you do it, your new aircraft should appear in your FS2002 aircraft selection menu under the manufacturer 'Douglas', type 'DC-3', variation 'Cathay Pacific 'Nikki''.

CREDITS:

Jan Visser, for the original aircraft; together with Bill Rambow, Roy Chaffin and others, Jan remains on the leading edge of development within FS. This texture set is primarily based on the model of the Dutch Dakota Association's PH-DDZ. The majority of the 'metal' textures for this repaint and for 'Betsy' are Jan Visser's incredible work; I simply slap a bit of paint on here and there.

Martin Willing, author of "Betsy, The Story of a DC-3" for his generosity and information.
